Imran Ashraf will make big screen debut in Adnan Siddiqui’s production

Imran Ashraf is all set to make his big screen debut in 2020 with Mohammed Ehteshamuddin’s next film.

Titled Dum Mastam and produced by Adnan Siddiqui, it sets out to be a thrilling rom-com set in Androon Lahore.

“I was offered a few movies, but I was not sure about appearing on the big screen as yet,” Ashraf told Images. “However, when I read the script Amar Khan has written I could not say no to it,” he said. “Also, I had no doubt on Ehteshamuddin’s direction, hence I went ahead and signed the project.”

Also starring opposite Ashraf as the female lead is Amar Khan, along with supporting cast consisting of Sohail Ahmed, Saleem Mairaj and Momin Saqib – The YouTuber who went viral during the Cricket World Cup this summer.

Apart from Ehtishamuddin of Superstar fame – Who has made drama sach as Udaari, Sadqe Tumhare and Aangan, the movie is produced by Adnan Siddiqui, who is branching out from TV and bringing out his first film in this capacity.

“We cannot reveal the story at the moment, but it’s an out-and-out, commercially viable Punjab-centric film very rooted in Androon Lahore,” Amar Khan told. “It’s a rom-com about a love affair between two main characters whose dreams and destiny take them elsewhere. [There will be] a lot of twists and turns, a typical dysfunctional Punjabi family and comedy, thrill, fun, masalaydar gaaney and exotic locations.”

“The music is composed by Shiraz Uppal, Azaan Sami Khan, Bilal Saeed and Shani Arshad, so it’s a full-force team,” revealed Khan.

Commenting on the film genre and the fact that both lead roles are played by actors making their feature film debut, Khan said, “This is a fresh, new onscreen pairing. Nowadays, people don’t watch just Shakrukh [Khan] or Salman [Khan] films; in fact, they appreciate more content-driven films such as the ones by Rajkummar Rao or Ayushmann Khurrana. This is also a content-driven film, masala film that the audience will enjoy.”

“Get ready for a rollercoaster ride and I hope you will all enjoy this pairing.”
