Instagram expands its horizon to test ‘Hidden Likes’ update

Instagram has faced backlash several times for instigating mental pressure on its teen users.

Due to increase in backlash and social media frenzy, the social media app shared a new update in few countries for test purposes. The new update disables the users to see likes on other people’s post.

This will help reduce pressure on young teens and adults, who are in constant fare of their social media image and judging someone because of how many likes they have on a post.

The popular networking site has now expanded its test to six more countries. Users in Australia, Japan, Brazil, Italy, New Zealand and Ireland will now not be able to count likes on their friends’ posts.

While you may not be able to see likes on your friends posts in the above mentioned countries, you can very well keep a count for yourself by clicking on an option that will land you to another page. This way, Instagram says business measurement tools would not be affected for entrepreneurs using the image sharing website.

On the other hand, we have no update about when this new feature/update will be available world wide and will it be a permanent change or just temporary, lets see what happen.
