Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has imposed a ban on the sale of fizzy and sugary drinks in the school canteens of federal capital for two months.
The decision comes after an online poll. The question of suggesting a ban on fizzy, sugary drinks said, “Should sodas and energy drinks be banned in all public and private school canteens for children under the age of 15 in Islamabad”.
To which 90% of the majority approved, after which an official notification was issued.

Ban imposed for fizzy and sugary drinks in Islamabad. 20,000 voted for the poll and 90 percent wanted the ban. Health experts and private schools support the ban. Social media can be a good tool for policy evaluation.
