“After discussions with the owners of Islamabad United, they have decided to go with a new coach this year,” said the former Australian batsman. “Slightly disappointed after the fact that we win two championships and won six playoffs out of eight.”
Hailed from Australia, Jones had a great time with some amazing people in IU and thanked everyone he worked with throughout. “It was amazing working with some very talented people. We had used every bit of time to improve our performance as a team. From team staff to players, everyone was cooperative,” Jones highlighted.
The cricketer-turned coach-cum-commentator praised the planning of IU’s owners and team staff as many of their young players went onto represent Pakistan at the international level.
