Malaysian company to invest $250 million in Pakistan’s telecom, digital sectors

Malaysian telecommunication company Edocto group plans to invest $250 million in Pakistan’s telecommunication infrastructure and digital sector.

According to an official press statement, Chairman Board of Directors Edocto Group Malaysia Datuk Azzat Kamaluddin called on Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

In the meeting, Dr Nik Ramlah Nik Mehmood, Suresh Narain Singh Sidhu and Arif Hussain were also present, along with High Commissioner of Malaysia Ikran Mohammad Ibrahim.

Chairman Board of Investment Haroon Sharif and Secretary BOI Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera were also present during the meeting. Edotco Group, with an existing investment of $100 million, plans to further increase their investment in tower Infrastructure. The statement said that the group plans to add an investment of $250 million in the next five years.

Chairman Edotco Group Malaysia appreciated the vision of PM Imran Khan and his government’s policies. The chairman said that Edotco wants to become a partner in Digital Pakistan Program.

PM said that all possible facilitation will be provided to investors and steps will be taken to improve ease of doing business.
