Pakistani ambassador to the USA, Maleeha Lodhi was elected as one of four, vice president at United Nations Economic and social council. ECOSOC is the economic body of the United Nations.
Maleeha Lodhi was elected by the 54 members of the body. She will hold the seat of Asia pacific economic bureau.
Armenia representative to UN, Mehr Margaryan, Juan Sandoval Mendiolea representing Mexico, were elected along with Maleeha.
Maleeha took it to twitter stating, “Her election as the vice president of the ECOSOC is a vote of confidence from the global community”.

In a tweet, she mentioned, “ECOSOC is at the heart of the implementation of the 2030 agenda for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and mobilizing financing for SDGs,”
