Karachi has been experiencing continuous spells of rain for one month now. There is no stopping it and the weather has been unpredictable in the city of lights.
This unpredictable weather has shed some light on the trash issue of our beloved city.
The garbage can be seen in every nook and corner of the city. From residential areas to the seaside, everything is flooded with rainwater and trash. It has also choked the drains.
The city has lost its charm because of the garbage.
Many government officials have promised to clean the city and make Karachi look like cleaner Karachi again but all promises have been forgotten. So what are our celebrities up to now?
Mawra Hocane who lives in Karachi just tweeted:
For the city I now call HOME❤️ #LetsCleanKHI
I’m back in Karachi this week & will do everything I can in my personal capacity or otherwise to clean up my beautiful beautiful city.
Inshallah let’s make it greener & cleaner????@LetsCleanKhi @ImranKhanPTI @AliZaidiPTI @zahirrahimtoola— MAWRA HOCANE (@MawraHocane) September 2, 2019
This single tweet got a lot of response from the citizens of Karachi. Even the minister of maritime affairs responded with the tweet:
Thank u!
A glimpse of what he have done so far. This is Mahmoodabad Nala!
Sadly garbage is thrown back in it daily, in the dark hours of the night. A planned conspiracy to make #LetsCleanKHI initiative look bad. Dirty politics at the cost of this city pic.twitter.com/amk1x0INSM— Ali Haider Zaidi (@AliHZaidiPTI) September 2, 2019
