Mehwish Hayat calls out Shah Rukh Khan for producing anti-Pakistan Netflix series!

We really wonder how Shahrukh Khan thought it was a really good idea to cash on the current political tensions between India and Pakistan by releasing the trailer of his collaboration project with Netflix, Bard of Blood.

And yet again, taking the same approach, Bollywood has taken so for years, the trailer for the series turned out to be anti-Pakistan and stereotyped Muslims as terrorists.

As soon as the trailer was released, it became the top trend in Pakistan as well, where people were quick to point out how Indian celebrities were not only cashing in on the political situation of the two countries but also promoting hate and war through their media.

Taking the same approach, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat, who had recently spoken at length about Bollywood’s representation of Pakistan, stated how Shahrukh once again did what she had been stating for so long.

“This just vindicates what I have been saying for so long. Another week & yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee & see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is? @iamsrkBe patriotic, nobody is stopping you – just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us,” wrote Mehwish on her Twitter.

Bard of Blood is based on Bilal Siddiqi’s book of the same name. The series will feature Emraan Hashmi as excommunicated RAW agent Kabir Anand, who is called back to service after four intelligence officers are held captive in Pakistan before they could send a piece of important information to India.

With the uncertainities growing in India, perhaps the Muslims in the region are fearing for their own safety and creating jingoistic content to justify their patriotism. Bard of Blood has a Muslim writer, a Muslim producer and a Muslim lead actor, and yet its anti Muslim, what more could depict the pressure Modi’s India is under at the moment!
