In childhood we all watch films but even if we grow up there are few films that stay with us forever. Here are 5 films that have great morals and outstanding storytelling.
1. Spirited Away
A Japanese film about a 10-year-old Chihiro and her parents who coincidently goes to the abandoned amusement park. When her mother and father are turned into giant pigs, Chihiro meets the mysterious Haku, who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings now she must work there to free herself and her parents. Primarily her goal in the film was to save her parents but later on, she learned a lot of things throughout her journey. This film has some great lessons like Keep faith in your action irrespective of the outcome. Eventually, it will pay off and one should never be motivated by your greed.
2. Up
The most emotional animated film made in history. The story follows Carl, an old widower who goes off on an adventure in his flying house in search of Paradise Falls which was his wife’s dream destination. The film captures the importance of life and the obstacles it throws at you. We all can learn to live more fully by simply living in the moment and appreciating even the smallest moments. The movie has many life lessons every person can benefit from. The film also follows the themes of loneliness, especially in the older age. One is never too old to achieve something in life.
3. Mulan 2
An adventurous film where General Shang and Mulan are sent on a mission to escort three princesses to China before their wedding. However, several challenges along the way put their loyalties to the test. This movie teaches that everything happens in its own time and one should always stand up for themselves.
4. Inside out
An eleven-year-old Riley moves to San Francisco, leaving behind her life in Minnesota. She and her five core emotions, Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness, struggle to cope with her new life. After watching this film, I realized how important it is to show your emotions. If you’re sad, you must feel it and let that sink in with you. Another lesson this film teaches you is how everyone goes through a change in life and it’s never easy.
5. Coco
Miguel follows his dream of singing in spite of his family’s disapproval of music. He stumbles into the Land of the Dead, where he learns about his great-great-grandfather who was a legendary singer. The major lesson from this movie was how passion means everything and one should always work hard to achieve their dream. But for me, this film teaches how much family matters and is everything in life and it’s never too late to forgive or ask for forgiveness.
