Natasha Noorani is a Musician, Ethnomusicologist and Co-founder of Lahore’s major music forum, Lahore Music Meet. She will represent Pakistan in the fifth Goethe Talents Program 2019 which will be held in Berlin, Germany. Natasha will appear as the only musician from the country.
She is among the 10 musicians from all around the world to take part in the 10-day Goethe Talents Scholarship organized to occur on 14-24 August.
Noorani is a Lahore-based Singer and Songwriter and Playback singer as well. Therefore, She is a music promotor and festival director too. She produces Neo-soul, Contemporary R&B and Progressive Rock music mostly. Her debut is EP ‘Munasib’ (2018). She has collaborated with many fine Pakistani artists like Sikandar ka Mandir, Gentle Robot, Strings, Biryani Brothers and Ali Suhail.
Besides that, Natasha is studying a MMus in Ethnomusicology from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Noorani additionally highlighted in the late spring blockbuster film, Baaji, on the tune Ye Aaj Mujh Ko Kya Hua as a playback vocalist for ‘Meera Ji’. Noorani has likewise been greatly engaged with the Pakistani music industry having helped to establish South-Asia’s debut music celebration, Lahore Music Meet (LMM).
Goethe Talents Programme wants young musicians and artists to collaborate and connect. Such as singers, songwriters, DJs and composers. This scholarship will provide various activities to get in involve in “music city” before the actual event.
