Pakistan calling back their envoy from Paris

​Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced that the government and the opposition agreed to upon a resolution aiming to condemn the act of making blasphemous caricatures in France.
​The session was noisy initially as there were two versions of the resolution which became the reason for fiery speeches. The passed resolution was joint by clubbing both of the resolutions.
​The lower house condemned the caricatures as hate-mongering including the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron as those statements are insulting to the millions of Muslims living around the world.


​The resolution urged the government to recall the envoy of Pakistan from Paris. It also urged the government of Pakistan to work in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to designate March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. The demand to boycott French products was also made.
