Pakistani films being pulled off screens to give more space to Dr. Strange

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in theatres on May 6, 2022, replacing Thor: Love and Thunder postponed until July 8, 2022. It implies the sequel will be released a year after the initial May 7, 2021, release date, which was subsequently moved out to March 25, 2022.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was previously been banned in some countries due to the existence of an LGBTQ character (America Chavez), is experiencing challenges in Pakistan ahead of its release on Friday.

Pakistani cinema has suffered a lot in the past specially during Covid. This Eid season  5 Pakistani films released namely Ghabrana Nahi Hai, Parde Mein Rehne Do, Dum Mastam, Chakkar and Tere Bajrey Di Rakhi.

The producers and team members of these movies have a lot of concern over the fact that screen space of their movies is being given to a Hollywood release. Nida Yasir and Shazia Wajahat also shared their concerns on Instagram with an appeal to support Pakistani cinema.
