According to The News, Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq pledged cricket fans that the home team would do everything possible to ensure the last Test was “result-oriented.”
Mushtaq told reporters on Friday that Pakistan will continue to play difficult cricket in the series decider, expecting a positive outcome.
He emphasised that Australia plays tough cricket, and that “we must play tough cricket against them.”
“We are quite hopeful after our fightback [in the Karachi match] and we will play hard to earn results,” he continued.
Mushtaq praised Pakistan’s players for pulling off a last-gasp draw against Australia in the present series’ second Test.
“In the second Test against Australia, history was made; the players made the impossible possible.” He continued, “I am pleased of the way the entire team has achieved history.”
The surface at the National Stadium, according to Mushtaq, contains all of the necessary elements for Test cricket.
He disagreed that the first two Test pitches were not suited for Pakistan’s power.
“Yes, the surface for the second Test was a little slower, but it met all of our expectations.” It had a spin, a reverse swing, and an irregular bounce, thus it met all of the qualifications for a good Test. Both teams were victorious.
