People shocked to discover price of food at Salt Bae’s restaurant

Well, we all know we want to visit the great Nusr-Et to get a picture for the ‘gram with the chef – Nusret Gökçe – bouncing flakes of salt off his arm and on to your food. But hold that thought because that little desire comes with a cost too heavy…

In a picture that recently went viral on social media, someone shared their bill from the eatery and it’s left us all gobsmacked.

Okay so we agree that there are a lot of items on the bill but the cost comes to a grand total of… $6,228.05 (£4,485.72).

Are you serious!?!?!

We can also see that there’s a combination of fish starters, as well as a $10 Sprite and vegetable sides costing in excess of $15 (see ‘2 French Fries 30.00’ and ‘2 Spinach 36.00’).

But there’s also a Tomahawk steak for $275 (£198) as well as a ‘Golden Tomahawk’ for $1,000 (£720). According to Smoked BBQ Source, you can usually expect to pay around $100 (£72) for a quality Tomahawk steak.

Another shared a picture of the menu and the $1,000 ‘Golden Tomahawk’ is described as a ’24 karat gold coated highly marbled wagyu tomahawk’.

Stating the obvious, someone wrote: “This dinner party has money. People who complain or post receipts don’t order $1,500 Le Brut or $1k tomahawk steak,” to which another person replied: “Nobody said they couldn’t afford it. Doesn’t make it any less ridiculous.”

Someone else wrote: “What’s difference between golden tomahawk $1000 vs tomahawk $275?” $725, my friend.

Another commented: “You think I’ll pay 6k and I won’t make him feed me the entire time? It’s right there, salt bae passion. Alaye better feed me passionately.”

As Twitter went into meltdown, someone else noticed the $80 ‘spaghetti’ (which is actually ‘thinly sliced striploin’) saying: “I better be able to speak Italian afterwards.”

Well, one things for sure, if you ever plan on making a visit to the Salt Bae’s restaurant then you better have a heavy account to cover the bill otherwise your coming generation will be doing the dishes for a meal you once had to post on Instagram.
