“Perils of Plastics” – We Need A Wave Of Change

“Be a part of the solution, Not part of the pollution”

It is being observed that day by day the use of plastics in our society is rapidly growing faster. This is an alarming situation for the country. Manufacture of plastics bags are cause of environmental hazards and a vital reason of its role in global warming. Due to their low cost, ease of manufacture, versatility, and imperviousness to water, plastics are used in a multiple of products of different scale, including paper clips, bags and spacecraft

UN has already called for Ban on Plastic Bags to Save Oceans and Ocean Species.

Plastic is a material consisting wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic compounds that are workable and can be molded into solid objects.

As usage of plastics is an ongoing eco-hazard which is being produced in the world. Yet people are unaware that its side effects play a vital role in hazarding and polluting the global environment.

Use of plastics has eased the life of a man but there are some disadvantages also, that are related to polymers directly. Especially there impact on the environment is very hazardous to the eco-system.

As you can see in the picture below, how plastics have taken its role in polluting the sea life as well.

Many countries in Europe, Canada, etc have adopted the use of paper bags as it can be recycled. They have strictly prohibited and banned plastic bags for consumption in the city or for any product.

Hessian and jutes bags should be promoted in the society and major taxes should be imposed on plastic manufacturing companies in order to prevent plastic manufacturing and its use in the society.

Usage of plastic shopping bags in stores nationwide should be banned and strict action should be taken against the offender. In past, the ban was imposed on plastic bags in stores but unfortunately the law wasn’t firmly followed and was later again broken.

The easiest ways to get rid of using plastic bags are by the following ways:

(NOTE)

  1. Shop in Bulk
  2. So that you don’t need to go back to the shop to purchase any item again and again
  3. Bring your own Shopping Bag.
  4. So that you don’t need to Buy any Plastic Bags from the Stores
  5. Carry your own Water Bottle. Stop Buying Bottled Water.
  6. Bring your own Thermos to Coffee Shops
  7. Prefer Using Cardboard Over Plastic Bottles and Bags
  8. Don’t Use Straws
  9. Re-Think Your Food Storage
