Prime Minister has ordered investigation and immediate action into the increase in prices of medicines all over Pakistan.
According to news, Imran Khan has ordered representatives to bring down medicine prices to their original prices within 72 hours. Khan has instructed Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar to look into the matters and ensure price reduction within the given time frame.
Following developments, Usman Buzdar has also been instructed by the Prime Minister to facilitate public representatives in support schemes and focus on developmental schemes in the coming one month.
Earlier, after the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) approved 15% hike in medicine rates across Pakistan on Friday, the prices shot up to an all time high in 40 years.
The price hike impacted the price of about 24,000 medicines, including life-savings drugs such as medicines for heart ailments, cancer, children’s diseases, brain diseases, cancer and also post surgical medicines.
