September 13th is celebrated as the Positive Thinking Day worldwide to emphasize on the rewards of positive thinking. This is to train one’s self to see the bright side and keep a positive attitude in every situation.
History of Positive Thinking Day
It was first celebrated in 2003 by an American entrepreneur who had come up with the idea of dedicating a day wholly and solely to positive thoughts. According to him, the only goal of the day had to have a positive attitude at all times.
This practice is highly beneficial for a person. Studies have shown that not only being positive is good for our emotional well being but also our mental health. It reduces the risks of mental strains, stress and anxiety. With this, a person can grow into a healthier human mentally and emotionally.
Different techniques can be use to attain positivity. The best way to do so is to hold your thoughts and reframe them. Doing this, even if you’re stuck in a negative situation you are likely to change your perspective to something positive for better results. We need to figure out within ourselves that what makes us feel negative towards certain situations. After finding the root cause, the next step is to find a positive aspect out of it. Having someone around you going through the same can help you find positivity through it by finding ways to get them out of that situation that would eventually help you too in the longer run.
Always remember that being positive doesn’t come from huge achievements, let it be the smaller wins that would encourage you and uplift you. Smaller wins at positivity throughout the day would result in the big thing itself.
