The Duke of York, Prince Andrew has become the latest to be named in the #MeToo movement after Virginia Roberts Giuffre alleged him of sexual abuse at a London nightclub when she was 17.
Giuffre, who had earlier alleged financier Jeffrey Epstein of sexual misconduct as well, said in an interview with NBC’s Dateline said that the British royal family member had given her vodka at a nightclub in London and had forced sexual activity on her.
She revealed further that the incident had taken place at the residence of a British woman named Ghislaine Maxwell, who allegedly also has connections with Epstein.
“The first time in London, I was so young, Ghislaine woke me up in the morning and said ‘you are going to meet a prince today,'” she said. “I didn’t know at that point that I was going to be trafficked to that prince.”
Giuffre added, Andrew had then given vodka to her and the two later partied in the evening at Club Tramp in London.
Giuffre had earlier alleged that Andrew along with other famous men had sexually abused her. However, all accused had denied the claims.
Prince Andrew has refuted all accusations linking to the Epstein case. The Buckingham Palace in a statement to CNN said, “It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”
