2019 seems to have started no differently for the couple, what with Ranveer’s mega success making the transition to 2019 utterly memorable for the newly-weds. The pair doesn’t seem to be able to stay away from the limelight for long, and lately, they made headlines for coming forward and declaring loud and proud, that neither of them will be changing their surnames post marriage.
It’s been exactly two months since Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married and needless to say, they are like a match made in heaven who are only setting husband and wife goals with every passing day.
Recently, a news agency took an interview with Padmavat actor and asked about her surname. However, there is buzz has also been that Ranveer will alter his surname, which Deepika also jokingly referred to in an interview.
“It’s not true. In fact, after that interview I realised that it’s a conversation Ranveer and I’ve never even had. So, we haven’t been like, ‘oh, do you think you should change your surname?’ It has never crossed either of our minds.”
When I was asked about it, I was like, ‘oh, we haven’t even thought about it’. Maybe because it’s not important. Also, I’ve worked extremely hard to create my own identity and so has he. So, my question is, ‘why would he have to do that?’ I think what people see of us is a very minuscule part of our entire being and existence. But at the core of it, we are very alike,” Deepika continued.
