Rigorous measures needed alongside Quarantine to contain Coronavirus, WHO Expert!

Almost half of the world has imposed lockdown and masses have opted for self-quarantine as Coronavirus has hit 176 counties. A World Health Organization emergency expert, however, believes that this may not be all that’s needed.

“What we really need to focus on is finding those who are sick, those who have the virus, and isolate them, find their contacts and isolate them,” said Mike Ryan World Health Organization’s, a top emergency expert in a BBC program.

The health expert emphasized that rigorous measures are required to completely eradicate the virus and while self-quarantine can contain the spread, it’s not sufficient to completely eliminate it.

“The danger right now with the lockdowns … if we don’t put in place the strong public health measures now, when those movement restrictions and lockdowns are lifted, the danger is the disease will jump back up,” concluded Ryan.
