Veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi has been roped in to star in the upcoming web series Halo.
The series is being produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Otto Bathurst.
Reportedly, the web series will go on floors in the Budapest next year. It is based on one of the most popular video game franchises in the world.
As being reported, Shabana Azmi will play the role the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence, Admiral Margaret Parangosky in the series.
In a recent interaction, Shabana Azmi expressed her excitement for her new project. She said, “It can’t get bigger than this. Asian actors have been fighting for color-neutral casting for years. Finally, it’s become a reality! This is completely new territory for me. I’m both excited and nervous, which is a good place to be in.”
On a question which inquired how she managed to get this role, the veteran actress replied, “It just fell into my lap. I had to give up two projects I was scheduled to do here but I figured it would be worth it.”
The other star cast of the series includes Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac and Kate Kennedy.
Halo is scheduled to debut on Showtime in the first quarter of 2021.
