It’s been two months since Shaniera Akram voiced her concern about the medical waste landing on Seaview but that was just the beginning.
“Our beach is a bio-hazard zone and needs to be shut down immediately. I am so sorry to the people including myself who use and love our beach but this is beyond safe,” Shaniera had previously said.
Akram has been pretty vocal about pollution and climate change and just took to Twitter again to let people know where all the trash is ending up.

While commending those cleaning up the beach, she pointed out that there is a long way to go as picking up trash from the coast is only a short term move.

Shaniera has spoken up about reducing plastic before, saying, ” a plastic bag takes between 1-10 000 years or more to decompose.”
