Wasim Akram was one of the many recipients of the Hilal-i-Imtiaz on Pakistan Day and, Shaniera Akram was so proud of her husband for getting this award.
She posted on Instagram a screenshot of Wasim being awarded the civilian award and shared a sweet message for her husband.
“He never really got a retirement but moments like this make it all worth while. Wasim Akram receiving the Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his contribution to Pakistan through his outstanding excellence in sport. What a proud moment,” wrote Shaniera.

You have made us all so proud in the past and continue to do so today. Congratulations Wasim Akram you deserve it.”
The former Pakistan cricket captain was among the 127 people who were bestowed a civil award by President Arif Alvi in honour of their work for Pakistan’s betterment.
