A U.S channel broadcast live surgery a kidney transplant on T.V .
The show saw father Daniel donate one of his kidneys to his 33 year old son Eugene, who suffers from Lupus. The long term condition affects the immune system and has sadly resulted in kidney failure for Eugene.
The two and a half hour operation showed Eugene receiving the organ.
A close up view of the operation was shown, with cameras showing the internal procedure as well as the surgeons performing it. While doctors performed the procedure, an expert explained steps by step whole procedure of surgery.
Twitter was filled with the praises for the doctors, viewers were amazed by the incredible work of the surgeons, as they took to Twitter to praise them, and to encourage people to become an organ donor.
Watching #OperationLive with the kidney transplant, my dad went through the exact same operation 13 years ago & his kidney is still working well today! Weird to see it performed live on tv! Everyone should be a organ donor it’s a chance to save/change someone’s life????????
