The arrest of Shehbaz Sharif in Money Laundering Case

The leader of the opposition and president of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif was arrested by NAB on Monday due to the rejection of his bail plea in the money laundering case.

The arrest has been condemned by all the opposition parties throughout the state. The information secretary of PML-N Maryam Aurangzeb stated that the act is of political victimization and the government is involved. She said outside the court that this decision handcuffed the whole nation and is due to the NAB-Niaz nexus.

The chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto also condemned this act of NAB and called it a ‘dirty tactic’ against the Pakistan Democratic Front.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the vice president of PML-N said in her tweet that the arrest is in the response of refusal from Shehbaz Sharif to help the authorities by standing against his brother Nawaz Sharif.

In another tweet later, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that there is no accountability in the country because innocents are being captured while corrupt officials like Asim Saleem Bajwa are not.

The arrest of Shehbaz Sharif at a time when the opposition is aligned against the government is interesting. One can expect a big political change in the country in near future.
