The Renaissance Man – Sameer Tariq!

Spiritualism has become a word that is used today in so many varying contexts with definitions ranging all the way from esoteric to super-natural. But in our culture and tradition, the word “roohaniyat” or Spiritualism is associated with Sufism , i.e. the path of servitude, love and divine love with the Creator.

Although there is a lot of writing on this subject, it can often be difficult for this generation, which is all about clicks and swipes, to understand the text.

And that is where Sameer Tariq comes in, bridging that gap between the ancient wisdom & knowledge of the mystics & sufis and the medium of communication of the digital age.

The immaculately dressed man can often be spotted discussing Spiritualism and Tasawuff in prominent locations throughout New York City, such as Times Square and Central Park on social media.

Born and raised in Dubai, Sameer developed a strong connection to his native tongue, thanks to his father. By the time he was in his early teens, he had practically all of Deewan-e-Ghalib and a fourth of Iqbal’s works memorised.

He’s an eternal seeker and traveler on the path of Sufism & Spirituality for almost 2 decades, and his ultimate goal is to attain the divine love and knowledge of Huzoor ﷺ and Allah as that is the one and only real goal for every human being from the very beginning, as he puts it.

Sameer, A professional in the financial services industry working in New York who is also an accomplished author, poet, photographer, artist, traveller, and martial artist, exemplifies what a Renaissance Man is.

Being a true intellectual, he is the author of the book Human Islands, which is a compilation of poems and short stories centred mostly on the idea of this never-ending search inside each individual for love. The book is sold globally in over 80 countries!

His YouTube channel, “Spiritualism in the Modern World by Sameer,” is the culmination of his 19-year journey along the tasawuff road, and it attempts to increase awareness and clarity about the fundamental components of spiritualism.

His message for the youth of the modern world is:

“Come back to your real identity – Leave the herd mentality behind. In Rumi’s words, Allah has given you wings, why do you still choose to crawl?

The day youth realise Khudi and how the Rooh is nothing but what Allah wills, the future of this Earth, and especially Pakistan, would change”

We couldn’t agree more!
