Things you really need to know about “World’s Best Airport”.

Singapore’s Changi Airport has been named the “World’s Best Airport” six times. The Southeast Asian hub serves 62 million travelers each year and makes layovers more fun by loading up each terminal with amenities.

The airport is also adding a new wing that will be home to the tallest indoor waterfall.

  1. Butterfly Garden

Changi houses features an abundance of flowering plants and a six-metre-tall waterfall and houses 1,000 species of butterflies.

  1. Cinemas – Where film fans are catered well

As the airport features cinemas in terminals 2 and 3 – it’s completely free to visit, new blockbusters and specialist releases are shown, and both are open 24 hours a day.

It is free to passengers staying at the Ambassador Transit Hotel

  1. 550 Free Internet Stations 

Around 550 internet stations are equipped inside the airport to cater travelers.

Exceptional art works are displayed in the airport.

  1. Multiple Green Spaces

The airport has multiple gardens and green spaces for those who want to reconnect with something close to a natural setting between flights.

The survey, which involved more than 13 million travelers globally, also saw Singapore win the award for world’s best airport leisure amenities and best airport in Asia.  Singapore’s win comes ahead of the launch next month of Jewel Changi Airport, a mixed-used development featuring gardens and attractions, a hotel, aviation facilities and 300 retail and dining facilities.

Skytrax’s CEO, Edward Plaidsted, said

“TO BE VOTED THE WORLD’S BEST AIRPORT FOR THE SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR IS A TRULY FABULOUS ACHIEVEMENT FOR CHANGI AIRPORT,” SAID PLAISTED.
