Pakistan is known for its colourful culture of Truck Art across the globe. However, the art has now taken drastic turns and directs our attention towards an issue being faced greatly in the present conditions of the country – Women’s Right.
Besides the bold and vibrant colourful features appealing to many on the roads of our country, works of art demonstrating powerful statements on these trucks are empowering women and young girls nationwide.

We have come about various images depicting messages relating to life values, particularly from a female perspective, which are often in the limelight negatively, have been displayed positively on these trucks.
These truck arts are particularly addressing significant subjects on the given matter such as education, child marriage, domestic violence and child labour.
What’s more interesting that truck drivers are equally supporting to raise voice and awareness regarding the issue. Moreover, they are taking inspiration from the women members in their family.
Truck artists from across the country have put their brushes together in this cause of awareness, striving to make a difference for women in society.
Many others have greatly worked in this subject, where the work of Anthropologist Samar Minallah Khan is worth mentioning. She has been amongst the pioneers for establishing organisations to help women empowerment through truck art.
These organisations include campaigns for creating awareness revolving around female rights and being the force behind using trucks to promote stunning art.
Furthermore, Actress Mehwish Hayat has also been at the forefront, campaigning for female rights and education.
