Twitter pays tribute to Sultan Rahi on his 24th death anniversary

Marking the 24th death anniversary of legendary Pakistani actor Sultan Rahi today, with a career spanning over 40 years, he is the most celebrated actors of Pakistani film industry.

There is no doubt that his acting skills have excelled in Punjabi films and has also given the audience a gift of over 100 Urdu films. Celebrating the legacy he left behind, Twitter gives him the honor he rightfully deserves.

Starting with the Government of Pakistan, their official Twitter account posted a commemorative profile of the film star.

“Death anniversary of Pakistani film legend Sultan Rahi is being observed today. He remained the most popular Punjabi hero during 1970s and 1980s. He appeared in more than 700 Punjabi and Urdu-language films and was named in Guinness Book of Records as most prolific actor.”

Radio Pakistan also celebrated Sultan Rahi’s achievements.

Various news channels also joined the slogan, and #SultanRahi started trending in no time.

The public also expressed their views and showed respect for the ‘macho man of Punjabi cinema’.

Sultan Rahi is one of the most talented and versatile Pakistani actors that the world has seen. The torch-bearer of Punjabi cinema gave Pakistan numerous hit movies. Some of these include Maula Jatt, Wehshi Gujjar, Kayla Jatt, Ghulami, Sher Khan, Godfather, Basheera, Rotti and Sher Dil.

In the words of veteran film producer Chaudhry Ejaz Kamran, Sultan Rahi is “irreplaceable“.

“Many actors have come and gone in this industry but there was only one Sultan Rahi whose memory will remain. There is no doubt that the actor will ever be replaced. On his death day, we are missing the golden days of our industry and praying for him. His star stellar performance in Punjabi films like Maula Jatt, Wehshi Gujjar and Basheera films will be remembered forever. His dialogues are still preserved in the mind of fans,” he said.
