Women’s Day Special – KFC redefines the diversity of work place inclusivity with women empowerment

In the past couple of months, Pakistan has come about a great change when you talk about women empowerment, rights activism, be it on a professional or personal level. Women across the nation have greater participation currently with the use of social media and digitalization.

There is no doubt that there is still a long way to go when you talk about women rights and workplace cultural pursuit in Pakistan. The fast food chain has greatly influenced women’srights between the years 2017 – 2019 with a greater female staff, providing opportunities of growth and success in a multinational firm.

There wouldn’t be any doubt in stating that KFC has stood out as a great example for other leading brands, national or multinational, for giving women equal opportunities as men. From 2017, the firm has stepped forth in hiring more female workers in restaurants which had been undoubtedly dominated by men for years. Nonetheless, these women stand shoulder to shoulder with male counterparts at KFC, serving Finger Lickin’ good chicken to everyday customers with a smile on their face.

Celebrating Women’s Day with a motive to be a source of pride for women employees and customers, KFC took the initiative to include an all-women team lead and manage their Lahorebased KFC restaurant, aiming to add more restaurants with the same objective and managing power. Moreover, it is known to be one of the top performing restaurants under the KFC Pakistan umbrella.

Taking the initiative to yet another level, the brand holds an equal opportunity for women working in and out of operations & management. Introducing their project Female Riders Program, carrying a fleet of female riders in Lahore allotted with custom bikes and delivery training, the project surely comes across as breaking stereotypes by introducing female delivery riders – something that was never seen in Pakistan before.

KFC Pakistan has undoubtedly showed great charisma and support towards empowering women in a respective manner, giving Pakistani women an opportunity to serve their families alongside inspiring many across the nation. However, living in a conservative lifestyle, the public response is still yet to be seen and heard with this bold step taken by KFC for women in a male dominant society. But one thing is for sure, when it comes to women inclusivity, KFC Pakistan is not only talking the talk but also walking the walk!
