The 28th National Games for special persons took place at Peshawar Sports Complex. This year the three-day event had 750 players in a total of 47 different games. Kamran Khan Bangash, an adviser to the Chief Minister on Education and Higher Education was the chief guest this year.
The three days event included 47 different male and female games, including cricket, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, athletics, wheelchair race, discus throw, wheelchair cricket, discus throw wheelchair, javelin throw, shot put, power lifting, bodybuilding, archery, wood ball, wheelchair basketball and various other events.
Important personalities present at the event were; Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khan Khattak, Director Sports Female Rashida Ghaznavi, founder of the Special Games Tariq Mahmood, Director Operations Syed Saqlain Shah, Secretary-General AIPs Asia Amjad Aziz Malik, Deputy Directors Sports Aziz Ullah Jan, Tariq Khan, AD Account Amjad Khan, AD Sports Zakirullah Khan, Director Development Niamatullah Khan Marwat and others.
This event is carried to encourage the differently-abled people in the country which is a very good initiative which is generally held in Abbottabad but was in Peshawar this year around.
