Here’s what you need to know about the Pandora Papers?

The Pandora Papers is the name given to a journalistic investigation based on a large leak of private data from 14 offshore service firms specialising in the formation of corporations in places like Panama, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas.

Over the course of nearly two years, more than 11.9 million files, including text documents, spreadsheets, emails, and pictures, have been examined. There are incorporation certificates, shareholder lists, invoices, passports, trip records, and so forth. Together, they provide an unparalleled glimpse into the shadowy world of international banking, shedding light on the secrets of tax havens and the experts who serve as a conduit to these nations. The leak refers to almost 27,000 businesses founded between 1971 and 2018, as well as over 30,000 of their beneficiaries. There are 751 firms with ties to Spain among them.

Over 700 Pakistanis, including several ministries and senior members of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s inner circle, were named in the Pandora Papers investigation, which uncovered financial secrets kept by high-profile persons throughout the world. According to the study, “important members” of Prime Minister Khan’s inner circle, including cabinet ministers, their families, and big financial backers, “have covertly held an array of corporations and trusts containing millions of dollars in hidden riches.”

The Pandora Papers investigation is larger in scope, and the revelations about politicians and public officials are far more extensive than what was previously made public.
