At the 94th Academy Awards held in Los Angeles today, March 28, the makers forgot to pay tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and actor Dilip Kumar. Late stars Sidney Poitier, Betty White and Ivan Reitman received emotional tributes at the Oscars on Sunday night before the opening of the annual ‘In Memoriam’ segment.
The segment, however, failed to honour the work and memory of two late iconic Bollywood legends Dilip Kumar and singer Lata Mangeshkar. The absence of two of Indian cinema’s giants from the 2022 Oscars ceremony was a surprising, especially after the British Academy Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) honoured Mangeshkar and Kumar earlier this month.
Many fans have expressed anger and dissapointment on social media.
