She’s not just a woman. She’s a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister and a friend. She plays several roles in a single day of her life. She not only makes your life easier by being a part of it but she stands stronger than a pillar by your side when the world turns its back on you.
She’s the strongest when a mother. She fears none for the protection of her child, ready to fight all odds and to face all her fears. As a daughter, she might fall vulnerable because she seeks your protection but she would do anything to make you (her parents) feel loved and protected. She would try everything in her power to make you feel proud of her and she would always and forever love you with all her heart and prioritize you. When she’s a sister, you’ll never find a friend better than her in the entire world. She would always be there to listen to you, to support you, to help you get out of difficult times, to make sure you never sleep sad and she would always be the first person you’ll go to when you get in trouble. You will never find anyone who would support and prioritize you as your sister does, she would go against the world to be by your side. As a wife, you will have no better companion and friend than her. Though she’s your wife but when needed, she would scold you like a mother, tease you like a sister and be there for you like a friend. And lastly, when she’s a friend, I’m sure you would not need anyone else to got to. This is how important she is and how much she means in your life. With all these roles that she plays, she’s an exclusive!
Standing strong for you and yet you fail her every time. Someone as exquisite as her needs to be loved and protected, to be kept safe from all the hardships and rages but you failed to do that. You have failed, as a man, a father, a brother, a son, a husband and a friend. You have failed miserably. You have broken the foundation of relationships for her. You have made her realize that she can never be safe, never be free and never be loved. You have broken the pride she held for you. You have shattered her.
With everything she does for you, in return you rape her, you murder her, you abuse her physically and mentally, you kill her in the name of honor, you seize her freedom, you crush her dreams, you belittle her in front of other people, you mock her for being incapable and you fail and break her every time she looks up to you. Is this what she deserves? Is this how she is supposed to be treated? A person filled with love and affection and all you can offer to her is rage, anger and your frustration. YOU TURN HER INTO JUST ANOTHER HASHTAG.
For the longest time, women have fallen a victim to sexual harassment, physical, emotional and mental abuse and humiliation whether it be their homes or work places. A large majority of women in Pakistan and throughout the world suffer through these traumas. The ones who are strong enough to take a stand end up facing numerous challenges through out their fight against injustice. It is high time now to bring an end to this injustice faced by women at all stages of their lives. It is time to end making them end up as a hashtag with people seeking justice for them after they are gone forever.
Learn to love and safeguard your women, learn to protect them and to give them the freedom they deserve because without them, you would never be a father, a brother, a son, a husband or even exist. She is the foundation of your life and she is your companion for life. Learn to respect her and empower her because with her gone from your life, you’ll be a mess.
