PM Jacinda Ardern also directed officials:
To develop a Gun Buyback Scheme for those who already own such weapons.
She said “fair and reasonable compensation” would be paid. The government estimates this will cost $100m – $200m
Earlier the PM of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern stated in relation of the event:
“This attack has embarked the darkest day in the modern history of New Zealand”.
And as a recent step taken by the New Zealand government is to air Azaan (Call to prayer) live on national television and on all radio channels tomorrow (Friday).
Jacinda Ardern will return to Christchurch tomorrow for a nationwide reflection.
