For The Irishman Robert De Niro revived a scene from Goodfellas

Robert De Niro is playing a hitman named Frank Sheeran and works for the Bufalino crime family. When the Irishman will release, we will get to see Robert De Niro as a young man and an old man.

A de-ageing technique was used in the film to make Robert De Niro look young. For this reason, the Irishman became one of the most expensive films Martin Scorsese had to make.

Robert De Niro has worked with Martin Scorsese in at least nine films. Therefore, Scorsese took a look at his old films in which he worked with De Niro to get an idea about this de-ageing tech.

To test out this tech, Robert De Niro recreated a scene from the old classic Goodfellas (1990). His character’s name was Jimmy Conway who lived among the mob and earned his money by working very hard but doesn’t realize the mayhem he causes.

The scene in which Robert De Niro recreated was the one where he gives instructions to clear out all the expensive new goods at a Christmas party. Robert De Niro repeated the dialogues from Goodfellas while at a Christmas party, like “Get rid of fur coat” or “Get rid of the Cadillac”.

After the scene was done they decided to reveal the de-ageing technology with the original version that they put in The Irishman.

Scorsese said, “We all decided this is going to work.”

Moreover, this film The Irishman will mark the ninth film of Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese. The cast of the movie also has Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.
