A girl opened up about her toxic relationship and how littered her road was

By: Anonymous

A girl from a renowned university opened up about her toxic relationship that how she was in an emotionally abusive relationship and how toxic the guy was. She wanted to share her story so that she can alarm people from making the same mistakes.

She started off by talking about how it all started. They both were friends already and dated for three years. The girl’s family didn’t like the guy. She somehow convinced her family but her family wasn’t the problem anymore. The guy became one!

“Once you get the taste of something, you ask for more.” This was the kind of situation she got stuck in. The guy started dating other girls too which she found out later. He was still dating her but she started noticing a change in his behavior. He started abusing her and harassed her multiple times.

She could have left him but she didn’t because for her, leaving him wasn’t an option, she thought he’ll change one day. Her friend kept telling her that she can get out of it and that sometimes, things don’t work out the way you plan, you just have to let them go and wait for something better, something you really deserve! She didn’t understand and kept dating him.

One day, she caught him cheating on her and she still gave him another chance thinking he’ll realize someday but she was wrong. He kept treating her like that but didn’t have the guts to face her. She asked him to meet her so that they can sort it out. After a lot of convincing, the guy finally met her but he brought his sister too. His sister started abusing her and asked her to get out of the car at some deserted area. The guy and his sister laughed at her and left. Out of uncountable questions, he answered only one. He told her “if I’ll listen to you and be nice to you, my friends will think I have no control over you.”

She went in severe depression. Her father was hospitalized when he found out what she was going through after which she finally realized that she did a big mistake by giving him chances and that leaving someone or something you don’t deserve is always an option and losing your self-respect is never an option. She realized that she gave her time to the wrong person and ignored the right people, her family!

It’s true that she made a lot of mistakes by giving him chances and bearing what she didn’t deserve. She took too long to realize that but at least she did. It’s better late than never!

It’s been two years since her breakup but people still humiliate her. She says it doesn’t affect her now, she doesn’t give importance to them.

She says she doesn’t believe in relationships now, she believes in keeping her family happy and making them proud, that’s what brings her peace.

She wanted to tell people that this isn’t the end. Never compromise your self-respect, leaving someone or something you don’t deserve is always an option. You should know your worth!

People harm themselves, attempt or die by suicide because of such phases. They shouldn’t ruin their life, good times and bad times, both are just phases, both will pass. Just enjoy the good times to the fullest and stay strong during the bad times.
