The site belongs to US Air Force, which is heavily guarded all the time by security forces and the sign outside says, “Deadly force will be used if anyone tries to enter”. The base current primary objective is unknown, but based on historical evidences; it was used to develop aircraft and other experimental weapon system. The intense secrecy have made it a site where people have made many conspiracy theories regarding the aliens and an unidentified UFO.
A social media user who started it as a prank certainly got attention from more than a half a million people. The campaign started on an event page “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of US”, it is supposed to happen on September 20, 2019. Over 650,000 people have signed up, the US air force spoke person said, and “The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets”. However, she did not mention how they are planning to stop people from entering.
The US government refused to even acknowledge the existence of area 51 until 2013. Freedom of information act petition was filed in 2005 and CIA acknowledged it in 2013.
