A Harry Potter fan transformed his bedroom into something straight out of Hogwarts

Brian Thompson, from California, was inspired to create his own slice of magic after visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

Thompson revealed he’s been a fan of J.K. Rowling’s series since he was in middle school, but he got the idea for the transformation after visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

“I remember walking through the Hogwarts castle and seeing the incredible world that had been created,” Thompson said of the theme park.

“I felt as though time had stopped, and I really had entered the world of ‘Harry Potter.’ Like I was actually a student at Hogwarts.”

He made more than 100 trips to local stores hunting for bargains, and picked up a few DIY skills to complete his bedroom.

He used chicken wire to construct trees, foam boards and insulation to make cinder blocks, and created columns out of concrete tubes.

Brian even recreated Hogwart’s infamous night sky in the Great Hall, by painting his ceiling black with swirling clouds, then adding fairy lights.

After a year-and-a-half of grafting his bedroom was finally complete, with Brian saying he hoped J K Rowling would be proud of his achievement.
