ICC finally response to the much controversial final match of the worldcup 2019.

London: ICC world cup final match has become a controversial match as many people including former international umpire Simon Taufel feel that the umpires made a grave mistake while awarding six runs to England.

Finally International Cricket Council (ICC) has broken its silence over the controversial end to the 2019 World Cup final.

An ICC spokesperson made it clear that it was against their policy to make any comments regarding the decisions made by the umpires.

The spokesperson highlighted that the decision made by the umpires was based on their interpretations of the rules and laws, the organization cannot comment on the decision made by the umpires as it is against the policy.

According to the Law 19.8 related to an “overthrow or wilful act of fielder”, says, “If the boundary results from an overthrow or from the wilful act of a fielder, the runs scored shall be any runs for penalties awarded to either side, and the allowance for the boundary, and the runs completed by the batsmen, together with the run in progress if they had already crossed at the instant of the throw or act.”

The spokesperson further added as saying by forxsports.com.au “The umpires take decisions on the field with their interpretation of the rules and we don’t comment on any decisions as a matter of policy.”

The World Cup final ended in major controversy on Sunday as hosts England were crowned the new champions due to their superior boundary count after a super over against New Zealand.
