Indian singer Kanika Kapoor has been at the mercy of online trolls ever since she tested positive for coronavirus and tried to evade the authorities. Now, she seems to have more fingers pointing her way.
Right when the news of Prince Charles contracting the virus broke out on the internet, hawk-eyed netizens dug up pictures of Kanika with the heir to the British throne.
In one of the pictures, which have now gone viral thanks to hundreds of people tweeting and re-tweeting them, Kanika is seen in an orange dress, standing and chatting with Prince Charles. Many reposted the picture alleging that it was from ‘last week’. So, what really is the truth?
After a lot of misinformation floating around, the truth has been unearthed.
According to Hindustan Times, the photos are actually from an Elephant Family charity event, hosted by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, all the way back in 2015.
Another picture doing the rounds can easily be traced back to Kanika’s own Twitter and is fairly recent, but not as recent as the outbreak of coronavirus. It is again from an Elephant Family charity event in 2019.
Thus, the speculation around ‘who infected who?’ seems quite baseless at the moment. While Kanika did test positive for the novel coronavirus upon her return from the United Kingdom, there’s a slim chance that she met the Prince on her trip this time around.
Not to mention, the virus’ incubation period of 14 days also chucks out any possibility of Charles contracting it from Kanika or the other way round.
So, did Prince Charles get the virus from Kanika Kapoor? The answer is a simple no.
