THARPARKAR- Massive coal deposits were discovered in the Thar Coal Field’s Block One in the Tharparkar district of Sindh province on Monday.
The company working on Block One of the Thar Coal Project has finished its excavation work. At the Block One site, Pakistani officials and Chinese experts praised the achievement.
Experts say that Block One has the equivalent reserves of 3 billion tons or 5 billion barrels of crude oil. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah, while congratulating the people on the discovery of coal from Thar Coal Field Block One, said that this is the second major achievement of the Sindh government as per the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
Block One is estimated to have 3 billion tonnes or 5 billion barrels of crude oil reserves, according to experts. While congratulating the people on the finding of coal from Thar Coal Field Block One, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah remarked that this is the government’s second big achievement in line with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s vision. Chief Minister Sindh said that we have always said that Thar will change Pakistan. Today, this slogan is becoming a reality. After digging 145 meters in Block One this morning, coal has been discovered. I also congratulate the Chinese company on their success, he added.
