Ah Marcel, yet another iconic character from Friends we can never forget.
Well looks like Katie the monkey – who is now in her late twenties by the way – is making a comeback on TV.
FX CEO John Landgraf revealed on a press tour that he recognized Katie on an upcoming drama Y: The Last Man, when he was reviewing the pilot for the show.
Said Landgraf, “I recognize Jennifer Aniston, I recognize Courtney Cox and I recognize that monkey! There’s nothing like a really experienced actor who knows how to hit their marks!”
Y: The Last Man centers around character Yorick Brown – played by Barry Keoghan – who is the last surviving man on Earth. Katie plays Ampersand, the last mammal on the planet and also Brown’s primate companion.
Although Katie is a female Capuchin, she is playing a male monkey once again, the same as her role in Friends.
“[She’s] still as good!” said Landgraf about Katie’s performance.
There is no release date for the show as of yet but we’re guessing many will tune in to see their favorite monkey back on screen.
