Pakistan cricket has always produced the world’s best bowlers, besides this, many finest batsmen aswell. Sharjeel Khan is amongst those, a left-hander who is known for his brutal and belligerent batting style. Senior cricketers named him after Saeed Anwar and Srilanka’s legend Sanath Jayasuria.
However, 2 years ago Sharjeel Khan was banned from playing all levels of cricket by an Anti-Corruption Board of Pakistan for his involvement in spot-fixing in PSL 2 as he did not score on 2 balls of an over in Dubai. Therefore, he was suspended for 5 years by the PCB. The left-hander was a part of Islamabad United team.
On Monday, PCB called Sharjeel Khan to Lahore, where they both met and came to an agreement on the basis of roadmap for his return. According to the media release, Sharjeel Khan has to complete rehabilitation program designed by Anti- Corruption Board before end of this year. The program will include the delivering and attending lectures on Anti-Corruption Code, visiting various orphanage homes as a purpose of volunteering and social service.
For the first time since his suspension, Sharjeel Khan offered an unconditional apology, he also stated that PCB, his fans and team-mates had to tackle embarrassment because of his irresponsible conduct. Therefore, he requested everyone to forgive him.
