This could solve our problem of plastic pollution! find out here.

These New water fountains across London have dispensed more than 77,000 liters of water in the last 12 months, saving over 155,000 single use 500ml plastic water bottles.

In Liverpool Street station alone, nearly 30,000 liters of water have been dispensed, saving almost 60,000 bottles from going to waste.

Businesses are also getting involved, with chains such as Costa, Leon and Pert taking part in the Refill scheme, as well as The British Museum.

More fountains are also on their way, as Sadiq Khan has pledged to install a further 100 fountains between spring this year and the end of 2020.

The research conducted by the #OneLess campaign analyzed how much water was being used at each of the 23 water fountains installed by the Mayor as part of the London Drinking Fountain Fund last year.

The initiative has proved a tremendous success. Londoners are using these drinking fountains to stay hydrated across the city.

A survey was conducted in which, 86 people at two drinking fountains in the capital showed that more than half of fountain users self-reported that they use fewer plastic bottles due to more fountains being available.

More than 80 per cent also said they consciously avoid using single-use plastic bottles because they want to protect the ocean.
