Strings have already grabbed much love and attention in the yester year with their latest album “30,” and there is no stopping to it as their new single “Naina” has been received with overwhelming appreciation by the music lovers.
Over the past three decades, everything has changed, except for the magic that Strings has created through their music. Ever since, Strings have topped our playlists with their peppy and beautiful melodies. Their comeback album “30” is a reflection of their continued legacy and musical prowess. “Naina” is the seventh track from the album and has proven to be another jewel in the crown for the duo. Built on the vocals of Faisal and Sona Mohapatra, the soothing rendition of the classic poetry by Hazrat Ameer Khusro creates an aura of Ishq-e-Haqeeqi and mysticism, paired artistically with the tabla, piano and guitar. The video has been shot in Turkey and does complete justice to the beautiful lyrics of the song.
Strings´ “30” has remained the highlight of the Pakistani music scene since 2018 and is continuing to do so. While the previous songs also received massive ovation from the fans, Naina has set the bar even higher. The song has been topping the charts on Patari for straight two weeks now, and has received more than 1.4 Million views on YouTube. Nevertheless, the song has been played a whopping 78.6 thousand times on SoundCloud alone. Not to forget, the fans are leaving overwhelming responses all over social media and are going gaga over the soft paced rendition of a classic qawwali.
While some people seem to have lost themselves in the magic, others seemed to be short on words to describe how they feel after listening to the exceptional melody:
Some fans couldn´t resist but pour out their hearts and admire the musical legacy of the dynamic pair.
Not just the song, the fans are also appreciating the collaboration between Sona and Strings for trying to bridge the gap between the two countries. Sona´s soulful voice totally complements Faisal´s vocals and gives the song its earthy, rustic and old-age vibe.
It is definitely not a piece of cake to turn a classic qawwali into a melodious piece of music, but Strings have made it possible and have won our hearts yet again. “Naina” is both aesthetically gorgeous and musically delightful and is indeed a definite addition to our top favorites list.
