Remember when Imran Khan recommended us all to watch Turkish drama Dirilis: Ertugrul?
Imran Khan has been seen on tape, not only recommending the popular serial lovingly called the ‘Turkish Game of Thrones’ but insisting all five seasons should be dubbed in Urdu so that the general public can watch and understand. And that is exactly what is happening.
The PM made sure the drama was accessible to everyone as he made a special request to PTV to air the show according to Arab News.
PTV Director for International Relations, Shazia Sikander revealed that, “PTV has got exclusive rights for dubbing and screening it in Pakistan.”
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, special assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting also shared, “We have taken this initiative as the Prime Minister wants to protect our social, cultural and religious norms.”
“It is also Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to share media content to counter Islamophobia and improve understanding of Islamic values… The Muslim world has its own cultural heritage and values, but we are looking into western ones.”
The is no release date for the Urdu-dubbed Dirilis: Ertugrul as of now but at the moment, casting for voice actors is underway.
