Ukrain-Russia conflict will pose a new threat to Global food security.

The on going conflict between Ukraine & Russia will lead to huge crisis in world’s main resources and it will pose a huge threat and challenge global food security.

Already due to pandemic the hunger has risen & issues have exacerbated. Ukraine-Russia war will just add fuel to the fire.

Nearly 161 million more people are suffering from hunger than before the pandemic, totaling 821 million.

Countries need to realise this and be more careful for instance Bangladesh, imports almost half its wheat from Ukraine and Russia.

Prices of food have surged rapidly. The war could reduce food supplies just when prices are at their highest levels since 2011.

A conference was organised by UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in which multiple issues were discussed especially on how to tackle diseases, adopt new technologies, control pests that are affecting crops and livestock in Asia-Pacific, the world’s most populous region.

Let’s hope for a better future and sustainable world
