Anurag Kashyap who has recently been accused of sexual harassment, Tapsee Pannu has found herself at a difficult situation.
In praises for the work ethic of the Gangs of Wasseypur director, Pannu opens up about his attitude on set, and his respect for the women around him. “If someone has been harassed, let them initiate an investigation, let the truth come out,” she tells Mumbai Mirror. “But if he is found guilty, I’ll be the first to break ties with him.”
The Badla actor also took this opportunity to speak up about the #metoo movement, which has been a saving grace for women all around the world who have used the platform to come out with horror stories of their harassment.
“If the investigation is inconclusive, how can the sanctity of the #metoo movement be sustained? How will real victims benefit from the power that has come to us after years of suppression? It’s wrong for women to derail the movement. Abusing power isn’t gender specific,” she continued.
Anurag’s accusation came through actor Payal Ghosh, who opened up about the director’s unwanted advances during the shooting of Bombay Velvet.
His ex-wife Kalki Koechlin is one of many names from the industry, standing by him in support. Kashyap has denied all claims put forth against him.
