$300,000 spent on a BATHROOM; Pakistani Permanent Representative for the UN!

The official residence of Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations has surpassed all bounds. After already allocating $275,000 from the Mission’s account, out of which $50,000 has already been spent, the renovation of this godforsaken bathroom has been granted a further $25,000 to complete!

According to a source this latest sanction of $25000 is just another expenditure on a bathroom which is already in good working condition. Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, has already got a house just outside of New York as he has been living in the US for many years.

This is clearly a slap in the face of the country’s economic conditions during this difficult time. This kind of behaviour blatantly violates PM Imran Khan’s policy of austerity and simplicity that the Prime Minister has often spoken of and promoted.

In the spirit of implementing these simplistic measures the Prime Minister House was turned into a university, cars and buffaloes were auctioned; ministers were even barred from flying abroad for medical treatment.

On the other hand, despite the luxurious hallways and bathrooms being shown on TV to propagate how public funds were being wasted in the past, the sanctioning of an added Rs. 4.2 million by the PTI government for a “BATHROOM” has broken all records of irresponsible spending and corruption.
